Makaton Level 1 Training

This workshop is open to parents and professionals

Aim of this workshop

To learn the principles behind Makaton
Learn signs and symbols from Stages 1 and 2, and selected additional vocabulary
Gain confidence using Makaton every day to support children's communication.

Entry criteria

No prior knowledge is required. A participant manual and certificate of attendance will be provided.

The workshops are for families and professionals in Bedford Borough who want to learn Makaton.

Makaton will benefit children who have:

A short attention span
Difficulties understanding spoken language
Difficulties using spoken language to communicate
A severe speech disorder

Workshop dates

The booking window will close 2 working days before the date of the training.

Please note, if you do not attend the workshop, you may be charged a penalty fee.
