Makaton for early years

This workshop is open to professionals in Bedford Borough

Aim of this workshop

To develop awareness and understanding of the Makaton Communication Programme
Learn 82 sign and symbols to help staff use Makaton confidently in their daily practice and support inclusive communication with young children
Gain confidence using Makaton every day to support children's communication.

This 3-hour professional workshop is designed for those working in early years environments such as nurseries, pre-schools, schools and childcare settings. Participant manual and certificate of attendance will be provided.

Entry criteria

Workshop for early years professionals in Bedford Borough. Unfortunately this course is not appropriate for families.

Please let us know if you need any adjustments for the training prior to the booking.

Makaton will benefit children who have:

a short attention span
difficulties understanding spoken language
difficulties using spoken language to communicate
a severe speech disorder

Workshop dates

The booking window will close 2 working days before the date of the training.
