Children develop communication in many different ways through everyday interactions at home, in early years settings and in their communities. This workshop explores how adults can recognise and respond to each child’s unique communication style.

Aims of this workshop

By the end of this workshop, you will:

  • recognise that communication development varies across children
  • understand a range of ways children communicate
  • reflect on how your environment and interactions support communication
  • understand practical strategies you can use straight away in everyday routines, interactions and play
  • know how and when to seek additional support

Entry criteria

This workshop is for:

  • Professionals working with children aged 0–5 years in early years, e.g. practitioners, support staff, childminders, SEND staff.

Workshop dates

The booking window will close 2 working days before the date of the training.

This workshop is free. If you’re unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your place to others.
