Sail Into Sound Graphic Of Boat Sailing

Sail into Sounds is a speech sound programme for early years settings. It aims to support practitioners to build on children’s existing listening, attention and sound awareness skills and how to build on this through simple, play-based activities.

There is no expectation for children to repeat or produce sounds. Instead, the focus is on creating low-pressure opportunities to listen, notice and explore sounds in ways that feel comfortable.

Following the training, practitioners will be supported to embed the approach within their setting through a quality accreditation visit.

This programme was developed by Bedfordshire and Luton Children's Speech and Language Therapy Service.

Aim of this workshop

  • Build confidence in delivering the Sail into Sounds programme
