Sail into Sounds
- Professionals and Clinicians
- Training and workshops
- Speech, language and communication
This workshop is for professionals only
Sail into Sounds is a speech and language programme for early years education settings. It was made to help educators develop children's speech, language and communication skills. This programme was developed by Bedfordshire and Luton speech and language therapists.
All of the Sail into Sounds activities focus on input skills, rather than producing sounds. The activities will promote embedding speech sounds into children's daily routines. This helps support children with their speech sound development.
Aim of this workshop
- Feel confident delivering the 'Sail into sounds' programme to children
- Implement strategies to support language skills at a universal and targeted level
- Use 'Sail into sounds' to help use speech sounds into children's daily routines
Entry criteria
The workshop will benefit professionals who work with children who:
- work with children aged 3 to 5 years old
- work early years school settings such as nursery, preschool or reception
