• All about ADHD, including information on ADHD medication

  Consultant community paediatrician Dr Chinnaiah Yemula has many years experience working with children and young people with ADHD.

  Watch our engaging and informative session which is all about ADHD, including:

  • What is ADHD?
  • How is ADHD assessed?
  • How does the ADHD brain work?
  • What else can occur with ADHD?
  • What strategies and tools can help young people with ADHD?
  • What are the options for medication and how do they work?

• SEND and dietetics: Making mealtimes manageable

  Whether you have a picky or highly restrictive eater you will find out more about why your child eats this way and what you can do to improve their food intake and make mealtimes less stressful.

  The session is for any parents or carers, family members or any professionals in the Bedfordshire and Luton area.

• Young people's transitions into adult services with the Continuing Care Team

  A discussion on a patient's story and her transition journey from children to adult services.

  The session will give a brief overview of what is continuing care and talk about the family's experience. Talking about what went well, what didn't go well and where they are today as an adult.  

  The session is for any parents, carers, family members or any professionals in the Bedfordshire and Luton area. It may be of particular interest to families who have children with complex needs or who are under the care of the continuing care nursing team.

• Supporting learning with SEND

  Watch autism and SEND advisory teacher Georgina Welch as she discusses how to support children and young people with their learning in the home and school environment. 

  The workshop will be a quick tour of the tiered approach to an inclusive education. It will explore teaching and learning strategies, ranging from universal quality-first teaching to additional intervention and support.

  The session is for any parents, carers, family members or any professionals in the Bedfordshire and Luton area.

• Sleep

  The presentation will include a brief look at the science behind how we sleep and the importance of getting “good” sleep.  We will then think about how to support children and teenagers to get a good night’s sleep and share some techniques to help.

• Eating disorder workshop

  A session to help parents better understand the different types of eating disorders with a  special focus on ARFID. To help parents better understand what ARFID is and how parents can better support their child who may meet criteria for this diagnosis.

• The positives of neurodiversity

  Watch consultant community paediatrician and autism lead Dr Francesca Omisakin to discuss the strengths and opportunities being neurodiverse brings, and the importance of celebrating young people with neurodiversity for parents, carers and professionals.

  The session is for any parents, carers, family members or any professionals in the Bedfordshire and Luton area.

• Gender identity workshop

  A workshop for parent and/carers of children and young people who are Trans or gender questioning. The workshop is delivered by Experts by Experience. We will provide advice and guidance to help you support your child or young person.

• SEND, neurodiversity and managing puberty

  Changes to the body can be scary for young people, and even more so for those that are neurodivergent or have additional needs.

  Watch our school nursing team who will be discussing:

  • Periods and products (including in the context of sensory differences)
  • Mood swings and hormones
  • Online safety and staying safe

• Oral health and children with SEND

  Watch our session to discuss the challenges you may have around oral health. We can share:

  • small steps towards a tooth friendly diet
  • tips for brushing teeth
  • resources that can help at home
  • signposting to relevant services
