This workshop is open to professionals by invite only.

Children learn about speech, language and communication from the people around them. This can be at home or in school. Up to 8% of children go through a stammering phase as part of their speech development.

Aim of this workshop

  • Understand stammering and how it can impact children and young people
  • Learn how to create a supportive and accepting environment of talking differences at school
  • Learn how to respond to moments of stammering in a more helpful way
  • Learn what treatment and therapy is available for school aged children
  • Be aware of resources to use in school

Entry criteria

The workshop will benefit professionals who work with children who:

  • stammer
  • are over 7 years old

You will need to be able to pass on the information you have learned in this course onto other staff at your school.


Workshop dates

All our stammering workshops are virtually by video call.

The booking window will close 2 working days before the date of the training. Please note, once booked onto a meeting there will be a penalty fee for non-attendance.

2 members of staff from your school can attend a workshop.
